History of

AVB Transport

Anwar Van Boom is a third-generation family member in the transport business of building mortar in the dry form (sand, stone, lime, and rubble removal) which has started for the Van Boom's in 1952.

AVB Transport was established and registered by Anwar in 2011. The vision he had for the business was to operate in the prime market share and to grow the company.

Starting off with only one truck and servicing his then modest clientele, Anwar was able to gradually grow the business and at the same time, focus on customer satisfaction which has become paramount in continuing business. Understanding customer's requirements and commitments have made AVB Transport one of the market leaders in the industry.

Since its establishment, AVB Transport offered its clients the most competitive prices which enabled their clients to grow their own businesses and increase their profits. What started out as simple transactions have evolved into business relationships which have most definitely benefitted all role-players.

We are an Accredited Service Provider with the City of Cape Town's Solid Waste Management Department. We offer assistance with Waste management Plan completion and submissions and project management services as a signated agent or proxy for those clients who require that.

We pride ourselves in employing skilled and qualified staff and we are confident that we can meet your business requirements. 

AVB Transport offers various services which include:

  1. Transport of sand, stone,and lime-sand from 1 cubic meter to 15 cubic meter loads.

  2. Transport of topsoil, gardening compost, etc.

  3. Demolition of building structures.

  4. Plant hire  (front-end loader, digger-loader, excavator).

  5. Removal of rubble

  6. Site clearing and site rehabilitation.

The company currently has 32 trucks servicing the whole of Cape Peninsula and immediate surrounding areas. AVB Transport has had the privilege of being involved with huge projects in the Western Cape including the extension of the CTICC as well as the erecting of a number of new schools in the South Peninsula.

Our clients range from small building and alteration contractors to big construction companies specializing in multi-story buildings. We are proud to have formed and developed relationships with these individuals and companies and together formed and continue to improve on mutually beneficial business relationships.
